Rev. David and Rachel Baker serve the Lord as missionaries in Mongolia, and will be living in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.  Because he speaks Kazak, he will be reaching out to those people living in Mongolia. He is the first LCMS missionary to reside in the country of Mongolia.  David was ordained in 2005 after serving a two-year vicarage in Kazakhstan.  His responsibilities include leading Bible studies, discipling new Christians, training group leaders and pastoral candidates, and helping develop Christian resources in the Kazakh language.  The couple previously served as volunteer missionaries in Poland from 1998 to 2000.

Baker prayer requests:
That the hearts of the Kazak people living in Mongolia would be open to the Good News of Jesus Christ.
     •
That God would raise up leaders from among the Mongolian people.

Rev. David and Radka Fiala, Vasek and Emma

Contact:  davidandradka@yahoo.com

God has called this couple to minister to the people of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.  In addition to some teaching responsibilities at the bilingual, boarding, Lutheran high school in Tisovec, Slovakia, David will also be coordinating outreach activities and events in this four-country region.  They will continue to live in Tisovec so they can build on the ministry that has been started there.

David will lead youth activities, Bible studies as well as teach Religion.  Radka will stay involved with the new women’s group called Young Women in Mission, a servant group that meets to study God’s Word and reaches out to the local orphanage children and nursing home elderly through relationship building.  Their home church is Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Milford, Nebraska.

Fiala prayer requests:
     • The hearts of people to be open to hear the Savior’s calling and that we may boldly share the message.
     • That God would bless David in his new responsibilities and use him as his instrument to reach the lost.
     •
That God would give them wisdom and strength to live out their faith on a daily basis.
     •
That God would provide guidance as they bring up their two children in the Christian faith.
     •
That they will see God’s miracles in their every day walk and mission to the people they serve.
