For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
The Church is the community of God’s caring people. As such, it is dedicated to praising God for all His wondrous gifts and to ministering to one another and to the world with those gifts. The chief gift God gives for His work in the world is His Word.
This Word reveals that the cause of human nature being diminished, and indeed all of creation – as evident in warring, abuse and discord on all levels of life – is sin. The good news that is also revealed in this Word is that God has taken care of the ultimate consequence of this sin, the eternal separation from His Holiness. This God has done through the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.
This beloved Son of God invites us to know God’s forgiveness and eternal life through faith in Him. The Holy Spirit, Who brings us to this faith, is the One Who also calls us to live as the obedient children of God until the day of Jesus’ triumphant return.
We invite you to come to be a part of Christ Lutheran as we share God’s Word, share His love and do it now.
